Of course, who wouldn't. If so, it would be austere, on flat slab concrete foundation with radiant heat, and cork floor for main areas, marble floor for kitchen, bath and laundry and plush carpet in bedroomms; an open floor plan with high 12' ceilings; neutral metallic and matte painted interest walls; firm, but comfortable furniture seating, medium flatscreem tv's in most every room connected by wifi internet, not cable, personalized music system for each and/or every room; large original artwork with intricate framing on walls; warm mahogany in DR; Fully functional kitchen, but no stainless steel (much to impersonal); an office with glass desk but wood file cabinets; lots of a variety of lighting, privacy window treatments; Baths would have large jacuzzi tubs, separate shower with multiple showers and perfect pressure, modernized features - again very little stainless steel; balanced mixture of cedar siding and stucco for exterior walls, would have a heated swimming pool in back with smooth pebbled patio - partially under roof and screened in, stone ground work with climate orientated plants and wildflowers and concrete paths; double or triple garage; and in the mountains near a spring fed lake on at least 10 acres. THAT is my dream home
I did - on 17 acres near Washington DC. Kinda round, surrounding a swimming pool, with a big rec room to play ping pong and a big basement for my model trains. Cabled for TV distribution and a home network, geothermal HVAC, on-demand hot water for the whole house, and a cell tower in the attic. Left it behind for sunny Florida.
I always dreamed of building a log cabin in a wooded area of about 10 acres or more. But I don`t want a big house, just a small 2 bedroom cabin with a front porch facing the sun rising every morning and a back porch to watch the sunset. That would be the perfect home for me.
